Wiz has been recognized as a leader in the inaugural report, The Next Generation of Cybersecurity Applications, executed and launched by Snowflake, the Data Cloud company. Our relationship with Snowflake has many layers: Wiz is a partner of Snowflake as well as a customer, and vice versa. Snowflake was an early adopter of Wiz, using our platform to help manage their large-scale cloud operations, and a member of the Wiz Integration (WIN) ecosystem.
Our rich history makes this latest recognition all the more meaningful. Let’s take a look at what the report itself covers, and the criteria that established Wiz as a leader.
Snowflake’s data-backed report identifies leading Powered by Snowflake cybersecurity applications — like Wiz — that are utilized by customers across the Snowflake Data Cloud ecosystem. Snowflake identified five technology categories that security teams may consider when building their cybersecurity strategy by analyzing usage patterns of all Powered by Snowflake cybersecurity applications as of July 2023. The extensive research shows how customers are adopting cybersecurity solutions that connect to their Snowflake security data lake and the increased need for an open-ecosystem architecture that enables secure data sharing.
The report also showcases how cybersecurity applications that are Powered by Snowflake leverage the Data Cloud to build AI/ML features. The five categories include:
Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
Cloud Security
Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC)
Data Enrichment
Emerging Segments
Focusing on companies that are active members of the Snowflake Partner Network, or who are Snowflake Marketplace providers, the report explores each of the categories that security teams need to address in order to be successful in protecting their organizations. It highlights technology partners and their solutions as “leaders” or “ones to watch” within each category. The Emerging Segments category only showcases “leaders” based on early adoption. Snowflake’s report details how current Snowflake customers leverage a number of these partner technologies to achieve holistic visibility, drive data-driven decisions, and enable automation.
“As organizations rapidly transition to the cloud, security teams need technology solutions that offer comprehensive visibility, streamline automation, and support data-driven decision-making,” said Mario Duarte, Vice President of Security at Snowflake. “Wiz stands out in the cloud security space, presenting an innovative solution Powered by Snowflake that can secure an organization’s cloud environment.”
We’re thrilled to be recognized as a cybersecurity leader by a technology innovator like Snowflake,” said Oron Noah, Director of Product Management, Wiz. “Not only do our two companies have a deep and fruitful partnership, but we also share a common DNA: Snowflake’s ongoing commitment to customer trust and value aligns with Wiz’s own worldview. We also agree that the challenges facing security teams require new approaches. Wiz is honored to play such a foundational role in how customers manage their cloud security programs.
Oron Noah, Director of Product Management at Wiz
