New York, August 10, 2022 – Wiz, the company that secures everything enterprises build and run in the cloud, today announced the expansion of its board of directors and executive team with a cadre of top technology leaders to further advance its mission of reimagining cloud security.
Building on its best-in-class leadership team, the company has welcomed security thought leader and longtime CISO Emily Heath to its board of directors. Heath has deep experience leading security in enterprise environments, most recently serving as Senior Vice President, Chief Trust and Security Officer at DocuSign, and as Vice President, Chief Information Security Officer at United Airlines.
Emily is one of the most trusted voices in security and has a keen understanding of the issues CISOs face, she herself having led security for many of the world’s largest and most well-known organizations,” said Assaf Rappaport, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer at Wiz. “She was one of the first people we turned to for guidance on our vision to change cloud security and has been integral in helping us identify the pain points current products weren’t solving.
Emily’s appointment comes as Wiz announced it has scaled to from $1M to $100M ARR in 18 months, the fastest software company ever to do so. In just two years since its launch, Wiz has risen to the top of the cloud security industry, protecting hundreds of the world’s largest and fastest-growing organizations, including more than 25 percent of the Fortune 100.
“Wiz understands CISOs and helps us to solve cloud security problems for businesses that so far haven’t been effectively managed,” said Heath. “The company translates that understanding into actual practical solutions to help businesses take the security reins of their own ecosystems. Wiz grasped that concept of visibility and broke it down into manageable, practical solutions for security professionals to implement. That’s special.”
Wiz has also welcomed top security and tech talent to its executive team to lead the company through hypergrowth and meet the cloud security needs of world’s leading organizations:
Anthony Belfiore, a security industry veteran and former CSO at Aon and CISO at JPMorgan, has joined Wiz as Chief Security Officer. Belfiore brings a wealth of experience in managing the environments of the world’s largest organizations and solving complex security issues.
Ryan Carlson, who drove Okta’s marketing engine as it rose to the top of the identity market, has come onboard as Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Wiz. Carlson brings more than 25 years of experience in technology and building awareness of many of the world’s most important IT products and companies.
Ryan Kazanciyan, formerly a security engineering lead at Meta, Chief Technology Officer at Tanium, and Technical Director at Mandiant, has taken the helm of the Wiz cybersecurity program as Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).
