Continuing our commitment to helping public sector customers secure their cloud, we are excited to announce our StateRAMP authorization, in addition to being under FedRAMP PMO Review for FedRAMP Moderate Authorization and in-process for DoD IL4. With StateRAMP authorization, Wiz has proven that it complies with the rigorous security standards required by State and Local Governments.
What is StateRAMP?
StateRAMP (State Risk and Authorization Management Program) provides a standardized approach for ensuring the security of cloud offerings for State and Local Governments. It defines stringent security requirements, including continuous monitoring, that the service provider must demonstrate adherence to in order to achieve the authorization. StateRAMP removes the need for State and Local Governments to conduct their own audits of new cloud offerings, and allows them to simply find preapproved vendors in the StateRAMP Authorized Product List that satisfy their security requirements.
Achieving our authorization
Our StateRAMP authorization demonstrates that Wiz meets the high-security standards necessary to protect sensitive government data. As part of our authorization, Wiz for Gov underwent independent audit and proved evidence of its continuous monitoring program to verify our cybersecurity posture. We are excited to continue empowering the public sector to innovate in the cloud securely and enable State and Local Governments to protect their initiatives and their citizens’ data.
"Wiz continues to clearly demonstrate its commitment to the Public Sector market. The decision by such a relatively young company to achieve StateRAMP authorization further evidences how serious Wiz is about making industry leading cloud security solutions available to State and Local government entities across the country." - Jamie Grant, CEO Redleif, Former CIO State of Florida
Wiz for Gov
With the widespread ransomware attacks on state and local governments, cybersecurity remains a key concern for governments. The National Association of State CIOs (NASCIO)’s State CIO Top Ten Policy and Technology Priorities for 2024 indicated that cybersecurity was State CIOs’ top priority (tied with digital government). It can be challenging to protect against threats in the cloud, as they are more complex, require an understanding of different risks spanning misconfigurations, vulnerabilities, identities, network exposures, data, and secrets, and knowledge of how they correlate to result in an attack path in the environment. Wiz simplifies cloud security for state and local governments by automating risk assessment and attack path analysis to help governments focus on the risks that truly matter. By providing complete visibility into cloud environments, accurate risk prioritization, and automated compliance assessment, state and local governments can effectively remove risk from their cloud environment and focus their time on more strategic initiatives.
